Collection statement

What Stormcrest collects, why, and who we share it with.

Draft for legal review before launch. Last updated: [date to be added].

This statement explains the matters in Australian Privacy Principle 5. It applies when we collect personal information through this website, by email, by phone or in person. Our privacy policy has more detail.

Who is collecting

Stormcrest Pty Ltd ABN 65 703 410 084 ACN 703 410 084, trading as Stormcrest, Adelaide, South Australia. Contact our Privacy Officer, Ryan Walker, at hello@stormcrest.com.au.

What we collect and how

Contact details, your CV, employment history, qualifications and licences, salary expectations, work rights, citizenship where a role requires it, and security clearance status. We collect it mostly from you. We may also collect it from referees you nominate, from publicly available professional profiles and public licence registers, and from clients. If we collect information about you from someone else, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.

Why we collect it

To respond to you, to assess you for suitable roles, to present you to an employer with your consent, to take reasonable steps to confirm clearance status or licences for roles that need them, and to meet our legal obligations. For employers, to respond to briefs and callback requests and to provide our services.

Is it required by law?

Generally no. Some roles require checks, such as right to work or citizenship for a security clearance, and we'll explain any check before it happens. [Lawyer to confirm]

If you don't provide it

We may not be able to assess you for roles, or respond to your enquiry.

Who we disclose it to

  • Client employers, only when we put you forward for a specific role, and only with your consent for that role.
  • Referees you nominate, and, for roles that need a clearance, the sponsoring agency or the employer's security officer.
  • Service providers who help us operate, such as email, hosting, form handling and applicant tracking (our recruitment system is Zoho Recruit).
  • Regulators or others where the law requires it.

Overseas disclosure

We keep candidate and client records in Zoho Recruit, a recruitment system provided by Zoho Corporation Pty Ltd (Adelaide, South Australia). Our Zoho Recruit account is hosted in Zoho's Australian data centres, in Sydney (primary) and Melbourne (secondary). Zoho says other companies in the Zoho group may have access to data to provide technical support and during disaster recovery. Zoho lists its group companies at zoho.com/privacy/zoho-group.html; they include companies in the United States, the Netherlands, India, Singapore, China, Japan and Germany. [Confirm against Zoho's data processing addendum and the Zoho Recruit sub-processor list]

Some of our other service providers may store data outside Australia. [List other providers and countries, e.g. email, cloud storage]

How long we keep it

Candidate records, and enquiries or briefs that don't proceed, are kept for 3 years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Financial and tax records are kept for 5 years. Our privacy policy has the detail.

Access, correction and complaints

Our privacy policy explains how to access or correct your information, how to complain, and how we deal with complaints. You can also complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
